Vigeo Eiris is recruiting a Product Manager – Climate Risk Assessment

The Climate Risk Assessment (CRA) product is part of the Specialised Research division. Reporting to the Head of Specialised Research, the Product Manager is responsible for the overall management, content, delivery and visibility of the CRA product. This is a full-time management role of the research line and the CRA Team, which includes a Product Lead and Specialised Research Analysts.

This is a high-impact role, taking charge of an emerging and dynamic sector with rapidly evolving regulatory framework and market needs. The successful candidate will also act as the global subject matter expert in energy and climate change issues.

Job description:

  • Product Management and Innovation
    – Ownership of the full life-cycle of research and production: development, implementation, production, delivery, maintenance
    – Supervising the Product Lead in terms of human resource management – recruitment, training, competency development
    – Spearheading innovation or enhancement projects to scale up models or framework generated from client engagements and continued market monitoring
  • Subject Matter Expert – Energy and Climate Change
    – Act as the global subject matter expert in climate change and energy
    – Primarily supporting the Climate Risk Assessment Product but also acting as the reference point for any knowledge support required on climate change and energy
    – Create original thought leadership pieces that highlight the market use and strengths of our climate change and energy research lines
    – Enhance the visibility of VE’s climate change and energy research within the client community, act as VE’s energy and climate change expert spokesperson at seminars and conferences
  • Sales and Client Relationship Management Support
    – Act as an expert and advisor to internal sales teams applying both product/thematic knowledge and client expertise; support sales teams in identifying product needs, usage and opportunities for client value creation, i.e. upselling and cross-selling
    – Provide sales training; support sales team in managing client enquiries and resolving issues; accompany sales teams in client meetings when neessary
  • Marketing & market watch
    – Continually assess the target market and thematic trends to understand positioning and enhancement requirements of VE’s carbon product and other energy and climate-change related offerings
    – Continually monitor and communicate emerging trends and requirements in ESG investing in climate change and energy amongst clients to internal Research Managers and externally within the business leaders’ community
    – Monitor competition on climate change related offerings; report on market and competitors to the appropriate committee (Project Management Committee, Management Board)
    – Manage bi-annual product reviews
    – Manage availability of product tool kit content for all climate-changed related offerings


  • Advanced university degree, with a keen interest in energy or finance and an understanding of ESG/sustainable investment
  • Track record in analysing current and future trends and capitalising on opportunities within climate change and energy, as an expert either in policy, economics, or management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop added-value to product development and client management
  • ‘Can-do’ attitude, with pro-active problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences – both written and oral
  • Ability to work effectively within a framework structure
  • Ability to manage workload and deadlines for self and others
